About Us
Our mission is to provide healing in the community through a holistic approach and manual therapy. We want to help people live their lives without limits by providing orthopedic and spine rehabilitation the way it should be.
“Surround yourself with people who share your vision and you will find success.”
Theraplay has captured the community as a leader in chronic pain and spine management with the collaboration and guidance of local physicians and other experts. From a humble beginning to a growing specialty practice that aims to help people, both young and old and from different walks of life, the success of Theraplay has continued to prosper due to the compassion and caring spirit of its staff and leaders. It has continued to be a family-oriented healthcare environment. The strong and ongoing core values of Theraplay continue to lead the founders, leaders and team members. Accountability, compassion and kindness, teamwork, family, commitment to excellence and paying it forward.

History

Theraplay was founded on October 1, 2001 by Dr. Troy Factora. It has been 20 years since the founding and establishment of Theraplay which started in one small bedroom with a desktop computer, a two-drawer filing cabinet with a fax machine on top. Many who have joined Theraplay have now pursued other journeys professionally and personally. We have seen patients and clients from different walks of life.
In December 2004, Theraplay LLC opened its first outpatient clinic that served mostly the pediatric population. It was a struggle for three years making it work both financially and physically. Like many other journeys, it was filled with challenges and happiness.
Another crossroad in Theraplay’s journey was widespread chronic pain and spine problems plaguing their pediatric clients and families, who took care of their special needs family members. This was the force that drove Theraplay to expand in providing PT services for adult clients, which was the beginning of transformation to Orthopedic and Spine Center.
As Theraplay grew, Dr. Troy Factora expanded provision of services to adult clients and acquired two Doctoral degrees, one in Physical Therapy and another in Osteopathy. Balancing work and family is always a challenge for everybody–that is why Theraplay focused on working as a team to provide services to their clients and nurture a caring and supportive environment for their patients.
In 2015, a land on the west side of Bloomington was purchased. And on September 22, 2017, a glorious and fulfilling day, we moved to our new clinic that we could call home.

success and perseverance was due to his quest for improvement of overall health of patients with the support of his wife and three kids.
His newly found hobby is flying a single engine airplane, flying with his wife while seeing and acknowledging the view from above, that teaches us that seeing the vastness of the horizon is for those who seek and find ways to expand their views and not to be limited to a flat and limited view of the world. It is like knowledge and health. Growth and improvement are for those who seek and explore their potentials.
